This short line was incorporated Dec. 22, 1883, as the Wrightsville and Sun Hill Railroad Company. The name was changed six days later to the Wrightsville and Tennille Railroad Company.

Construction was completed in 1884 between Tennille and Harrison, and in 1907, the line had its maximum length of 102.74 miles. This growth was accomplished by purchasing in 1886 the Dublin and Wrightsville Railroad Company, which had a total of 18 miles connecting Wrightsville and the Oconee River.

In February 1899, purchase was made of the Oconee and Western Railroad with its line from Dublin to Hawkinsville. The Dublin and Southwestern was bought in 1907, connecting Dublin and Eastman.

Construction from Harrison to Wrightsville was done in 1885, and the railroad crossed the Oconee River into Dublin in 1891.

The Central acquired the Wrightsville and Tennille in 1899.
