Southern Railway Acquires Stock Control of Central

Southern Railway Company on June 17, 1963, acquired stock control of the Central through the purchase of approximately 71 per cent interest in the capital stock of the Central of Georgia Railway held by the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway.

Since that time Southern has acquired additional shares bringing its ownership of Central stock to approximately 96.2 per cent.
