Description
This collection is a reprint of a freight equipment diagram book which was issued by the Central of Georgia Railway on March 11, 1931. It includes line drawings and mechanical data for all of the freight equipment on the railroad as of that date. Such diagram books were issued to railroad employees who needed the information for various operational reasons.
The diagrams in this book illustrate a transition period in freight car construction. Included are cars built entirely of wood, cars with steel underframes and wood superstructures, and cars built entirely of steel.
