George F. Dorsey
George Dorsey is a native of Oak Ridge, Tenn. His Central of Georgia roots come from his paternal grandfather, T. Worth Dorsey, who worked as a yard foreman in Chattanooga, Tenn. He also has railroad roots on his mother’s side—one of his maternal greatgreat-
grandfathers, Col. John Madison Stubbs of Dublin, Ga., was the founder of the Macon, Dublin and Savannah Railroad.
George has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Science degree in chemistry from Indiana University. He lives in Carrboro, N.C., with his wife, son, and stepson. He is employed by GlaxoSmithKline as an analytical chemist.
