Allen Tuten collection. | Buffalo Creek Graphics has announced the planned release of a special custom run of classic Central of Georgia 50' Plug Door Boxcars. These cars are based on the 3500 series pillar door prototypes, and are being designed from photos and data supplied by the Central of Georgia Railway Historical Society. According to Buffalo Creek Graphics, the cars have never been offered in O scale before. These Weaver O scale cars will come with custom-made plug doors and will feature custom-mixed freight car red (also called freight car brown) carbodies with white lettering. Silver doors with prototypical DF designations will round our the paint scheme. Three road numbers will be available, and cars will be available in three-car sets or individually. Buffalo Creek Graph plans to limit production to 33 sets (100 cars), or fewer, depending on reservations and pre-orders. Issue price is yet to be determined, but to gauge adequate response to produce this project, pre-order reservations are now being requested. A nominal deposit of $25.00 per car insures placement on the reservation list. Delivery is anticipated in the late spring of this year and reservation holders will be advised of exact price and delivery schedule in due course. Email Buffalo Creek Graphics for a registration coupon . Reservation deadline is April 10, 2006.
